This 46,000 square foot library and city hall is 29% more energy efficient than LEED building standards require. This was achieved by insulating the building and installing exterior sun shades to reduce the solar gain and allow light, not heat, to enter the building. Efficient heating, ventilation and cooling systems also help conserve energy.
Our Golden Gobi Layered Sandstone was specified for panels on a dramatic feature wall shared by both the interior and exterior western elevation of the building. During fabrication great care was taken to capture the marvelous veining of the material so that the installer’s job of storying the panels created a very rich tableau.
