Queen Anne Garden

A ho-hum front yard has been transformed into a tranquil garden that reflects the homeowner’s fascination with Chinese culture. Our Rusty Manchu Caviar Limestone forms the foundation for an elegant exterior entryway and circular patio. In the adjacent garden, stepping stones are carved with Chinese characters to welcome guests. Yellow Mountain co-founder Erik Nelson translated these greetings into Chinese for the homeowner.

We explored a variety of creative opportunities with the landscape designer, which lead to creation of a mortise-and-tenon interlocking mechanism to frame the walkway and hold it in place - a great solution that serves both form and function.

“My experience with YMSW enabled me to see them as co-creators of my stone projects.”
